Testimonials

‘I’ve been playing at Phoenix for around 4 years now and can honestly say it’s by far the friendliest club around - I’ve tried most of them. There’s a really good mix of age, experience and backgrounds, as well as a number of teams playing competitively. My game has definitely improved here and I can’t wait to get back and see everyone again.’

‘I am so glad to hear that the club is opening for Badminton again soon. Can’t wait more to come and start playing again. Since I moved to Aylesbury and became part of Phoenix family in 2011 and I can’t remember not turning up for badminton evenings on both days unless I am unwell or away. The best part I like about the club is the culture – so welcoming, inclusive, supportive, responsible…a happy place really. While it’s a social badminton club, there are players of all skill levels (some being really good) making it convenient for members to choose to play competitive or recreational. I have nothing in my mind on improvement suggestions except one may be; last year the quality of shuttles dropped as we were trying out various brands and options to keep the cost under control. Phoenix is an excellent place to learn or improve badminton skills and being socially active in the “one large family” like atmosphere. See you all soon.’ Note: Whilst the club tried out new shuttles, we have returned to our usually shuttles, Yonex Aerosensa 20’s (D. Moule)

'My daughter has been going to the club for the last 2 years. She was made to feel welcome from Day 1 and instantly found friends her age. The coaches are friendly and full of advice. The training is well organised and competitive when it needs to be which helped build up my daughter's confidence for playing in the matches. The fees are very reasonable for training once a week and payment is convenient each half-term. I would certainly recommend the club to any other juniors interested in the sport!'.

‘I have been a member of the Phoenix badminton club ever since I moved to Aylesbury in 2008. Phoenix is a club that extends a warm welcome to everyone who have an inclination to play badminton irrespective of skill and ability. I was initially a little apprehensive as my badminton skill level were very raw and basic but joining it was one of my best decisions. It is a great place to feel positively challenged and supported. The environment is very structured, organized, fair but most importantly a lot of fun!!! I have made a lot of acquaintances and friends here at Phoenix Club and it plays a big role in community cohesion. It is a great place to be physically fit ,mentally refreshed and socially connected. I highly recommend Phoenix Badminton Club to everyone and it should be renamed 'Phoenix Badminton Wellness Club' !!!

I have been at Phoenix Badminton Club for over two years now and have found the coaches very helpful in enhancing our skills in many different ways. I have grown in confidence throughout my time at the club and my own range of skills have improved significantly. I thoroughly enjoy the training sessions every week and the match days are a lot of fun too.

Phoenix Badminton is a fun and welcoming club to all. I was able to develop my skills in badminton and sport alike while also enjoying playing amongst friends. My favourite part of the club is that everyone is always given a chance to play games and matches, which I felt gave everyone a chance to improve, while doing the sport they enjoyed.

"It is a well run, friendly badminton club and the fee is affordable so everyone can join. The club also has an energy making my daughter never want to miss a session!" Joanne has also written a quote to the club. She is also happy to show her name. "entertaining and I am very happy to see that I have progressed over time." Joanne (Junior member)

- Mrs Holgate. April 2021 (Parent)

“ We have been a part of Phoenix since the last 3 years and in that time we have thoroughly enjoyed our sessions here. Not only do we get quality badminton teaching but also a chance to have fun and play practice games. Everyone is really nice and welcoming and It has been especially helpful in giving us an outlet to de-stress from school. We would highly recommend the club for anyone looking to either enjoy casual play or is more serious about getting better at badminton.”
